About Novupay

What is Novupay?

Novupay is a fiat payment processor built for high-risk businesses. Merchants can accept card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments from customers worldwide, through a checkout that looks and works like a normal card payment.

Who is Novupay for?

Novupay is for high-risk businesses that struggle to get or keep a fiat payment gateway. That includes merchants other processors have declined, merchants who only take crypto or manual bank transfers today, and merchants whose current checkout loses too many payers.

How is Novupay different from other high-risk processors?

Payments are processed directly in fiat, without sending your customers to an unfamiliar third-party page. Card approval rates sit at 95%, against roughly 70% on many competing high-risk solutions. More of the people who reach your checkout end up paying.

I've been declined by other processors. Can Novupay still help?

Very likely. Novupay exists for operators that mainstream and many high-risk processors turn away. Tell us about your business, and we'll tell you quickly whether we can board you.

Where is Novupay based?

Novupay is incorporated in Costa Rica and works with merchants worldwide, excluding sanctioned countries.

Does Novupay handle payouts or withdrawals?

No. Novupay processes pay-ins only: deposits and payments from your customers to you. Payouts to your customers, such as trading or gaming withdrawals, need to run through a separate provider.

Who we work with

Which industries do you work with?

We work with high-risk but legal businesses in six sectors: Trading & Financial, Gambling & Betting, Gaming & Digital Assets, Adult, Health & Supplements, and Retail & Direct Response. Each sector has its own page listing the specific business types we serve, from forex and CFD brokers to vape retailers.

My industry isn't listed. Can I still apply?

Yes. The industry pages cover the businesses we see most often, not everything we can take on. If your business is legal and other processors find it hard to place, send us a short description and we'll review it.

Do I need a particular licence or jurisdiction to work with you?

No single licence is required. We work with operators registered in a wide range of jurisdictions, including offshore setups that other processors routinely decline. Every business is reviewed individually during onboarding.

We only accept crypto today. Can we add card payments?

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons merchants come to us. Adding card, Apple Pay and Google Pay lets you reach customers who would never buy crypto just to pay you.

Can you process prop firm evaluation and challenge fees?

Yes. Prop trading firms are one of our core verticals. We process evaluation, challenge and reset fees through the same one-page card checkout.

Do you support subscriptions and recurring billing?

Yes. We support recurring and subscription billing, including memberships, subscriptions and free-trial offers. Your billing model is reviewed during onboarding.

Getting started & onboarding

How do I open a Novupay account?

Click "Get started" or email business@novupay.com with a short description of your business and website. We'll confirm whether we can work with you, ask for your onboarding documents, review them, and then set up your integration so you can start taking payments.

What documents do I need to apply?

Standard KYC and KYB onboarding: your company documents, ID for the owners, the website where you'll take payments and your settlement details. Nothing unusual, and we walk you through it.

Does my website need to be live before I apply?

Yes. Your website is part of our review, so it should be live and clearly show what you sell. Clear product descriptions, pricing, terms and contact details also make the review faster.

How long does onboarding take?

Less than 24 hours once we have all your requested company (KYB) and owner (KYC) documents.

What happens after I'm approved?

You choose your settlement method, crypto or fiat, and we give you everything you need to connect Novupay to your checkout, including a test environment. Once your test payments go through, you're live.

Payments & checkout

Which payment methods can my customers use?

Your customers can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard and others), Apple Pay or Google Pay. Local payment methods are available on request.

Can you offer local payment methods in my market?

Yes, on request. Tell us where your customers are, and we'll let you know which local methods we can enable for you.

What does the checkout look like for my customers?

It's a clean, one-page payment: your customer picks card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, enters their details and pays. There are no extra steps between them and the payment, so the flow feels like any normal online card payment.

Do my customers need to buy crypto to pay?

No. Novupay processes card payments directly in fiat, so your customers never need a wallet or an exchange account.

Which currencies can my customers pay in?

Customers can pay in EUR, USD and GBP. More currencies are available on request.

Approvals, limits & chargebacks

What is Novupay's approval rate?

Novupay approves 95% of card payments. Many competing high-risk solutions approve around 70%.

Why does the approval rate matter so much?

Every declined payment is a customer who wanted to pay and couldn't. Out of 100 payment attempts, a 95% approval rate completes 95 payments, against 70 at 70%. That's about 36% more revenue from the same traffic.

Are there transaction limits?

No. There's no maximum amount per transaction, and no daily or monthly limits for your customers.

Can I process high-ticket payments?

Yes. Because there's no per-transaction maximum, you can take large deposits and high-value orders through the same checkout as everyday payments.

Can chargebacks happen?

Yes. Chargebacks are part of card payments and no processor can rule them out, Novupay included. Disputes are rare for a legitimate business that delivers the product or service the customer paid for.

How can I keep chargebacks low?

The basics make the biggest difference: deliver what you sell on time, make your refund policy easy to find, answer customer emails quickly, and make sure customers recognise the charge on their statement. Most disputes start as a customer who couldn't reach you, or didn't recognise the payment.

Pricing & fees

How much does Novupay cost?

Novupay charges a single percentage fee per transaction. We'll share your rate once we've reviewed your business. Get in touch to find out what your pricing would be.

Why is high-risk processing more expensive than standard processing?

High-risk industries see more regulation, more scrutiny from card schemes and more payment risk overall. Few processors are willing to take that on, and the ones that do price it in. The real question isn't the headline rate, but how much revenue you keep at the end.

Is Novupay more expensive than other processors?

Compare net revenue, not headline rates. A cheaper provider that loses payers to redirects and declines can leave you with less money than Novupay does. Look at how much you keep from every 100 customers who try to pay. If you can't accept cards at all today, the comparison is against zero.

Settlement & reserves

How do I receive my funds?

You can take your settlements in crypto or in fiat. You choose every time you request a settlement, so you're never locked into one or the other.

Can I switch between crypto and fiat settlement?

Yes. The choice is made per settlement request. You can take one settlement in crypto and the next to your bank account.

How fast is settlement?

Settlement timing depends on the method you choose. Get in touch, and we'll walk you through the timelines for crypto and fiat settlement.

Which crypto assets and fiat currencies can I settle in?

You can settle in the most widely used cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, or by bank transfer in fiat. Ask us for the full list of supported options.

Is there a rolling reserve?

It depends on your business. Whether a reserve applies, and at what level, is decided case by case once we've reviewed your business. If one does apply, it can be set as a fixed rate.

What is a rolling reserve?

A rolling reserve is a small share of each payment that's held back for a set period and then paid out to you. It covers possible chargebacks and refunds. A reserve doesn't reduce your revenue; it only delays part of it.

Integration & technical

How do I connect Novupay to my website?

There are four ways to connect, depending on your setup: a WooCommerce plugin, a direct API integration, an embedded checkout on your own page, or payment links that need no integration at all. We'll recommend the right option during onboarding.

Do you have a WooCommerce plugin?

Yes. WooCommerce stores can install the Novupay plugin, add their credentials, and take card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments without writing code.

Can I take payments without a website integration?

Yes, with payment links. You create a link for an amount and send it to your customer by email, chat or social media. They pay through the same one-page checkout.

Do you offer an API and developer documentation?

Yes. Our API lets you create payments from your own system and track their status. Full documentation is provided once you're onboarded.

Do you support webhooks?

Yes. Novupay sends a webhook to your server whenever a payment's status changes. Every webhook is signed with HMAC-SHA256, so you can verify it came from us.

Which payment statuses will I see?

Each payment moves through clear statuses: pending, waiting, confirming, paid, failed or expired. Only "paid" means the payment is complete.

Is there a test environment?

Yes. You can run test payments in a test environment before going live, so your whole integration is checked end to end.

Coverage & countries

Which countries do you cover?

Novupay works worldwide. The only exception is sanctioned countries, where we can't onboard merchants or accept payments.

Can I accept payments from customers anywhere in the world?

Yes. Customers can pay from anywhere outside sanctioned countries, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Local payment methods for specific markets are available on request.

Does it matter where my company is incorporated?

No. We work with companies incorporated around the world, including the offshore jurisdictions that are common in trading, gaming and betting. Your jurisdiction is reviewed as part of onboarding, alongside the rest of your business.

Which countries can't you serve?

Sanctioned countries are the only exception. We can't work with merchants or payers there. If you're unsure whether your market is affected, ask us before you apply.

Security & compliance

Why do you need company and owner documents from me?

We need to know who we're working with. Checking your company documents and your owners' identities is standard for every payment processor. It's also what keeps the payment relationship stable over time, which protects you as much as it protects us.

Is Novupay secure?

Yes. Payments are sent over encrypted connections, and every notification we send to your server is signed so it can't be faked.

How do you handle my business's data?

We use your documents and business information only to onboard you, run your account and meet our compliance obligations. Our privacy policy, linked in the footer of every page, explains this in full.

Support & contact

How do I contact Novupay?

Email business@novupay.com, or use the "Get started" form on the site.

How quickly will you reply?

We reply to new merchant enquiries within 12 hours.

Can I talk to someone before I apply?

Yes. Send us a short description of your business, your website and your expected monthly volume. We'll tell you plainly whether we're a fit before you prepare any documents.

Who do I contact once I'm live?

Every merchant gets a dedicated account manager, reachable on Telegram or WhatsApp. They're your direct contact for questions about payments, settlements and integration.
